Update emergency aid

It took a long time to re-establish contact with the people on the ground. But this morning, we received word: the first supplies have arrived in Dhunche. Our partners describe the current situation:

Those affected have been sheltered in a building where blankets, food, and water have been distributed. While this is vitally important, it does nothing to diminish the heart-wrenching nature of the situation. Everywhere, you see children waiting anxiously—waiting for news about their parents, hoping they might still be found. Some already know that their mother or father is gone. Children who, in an instant, lost everything that felt familiar and safe. The pain and grief are beyond words...

Our local partner, Warming Hearts Nepal/Sayan Samaj, is doing everything possible to help and support as many people as they can. Half the team is now returning to Kathmandu to collect the next shipment of relief supplies and bring them to the area. We are staying in close contact with the people there and will keep you updated on further developments.
